Hymnal Note for hymn 339 (There are none friendless, none
afraid - “St Columba”) tells that this poem from William McKenzie’s Heartease
Hymns was chosen by Mary Baker Eddy as among the finest – along with The
Present. These lines from The Present are quoted:
The future and past are man’s,
The Present belongeth to God.
Good, eh? But I don’t think I have ever sung 339.
