John
Wesley, Charles Wesley, Samuel Wesley. Brothers. The words of hymn
35 are by Charles Wesley as are 5 others. Samuel Wesley is credited with
the music of 7. John doesn’t get a mention, except in Note 105 which
gives a short history of these remarkable brothers, and Methodism.
Wikipedia tells me that John Wesley never left the ministry of the Church of
England.
The opening paragraph of
Miscellaneous Writings and that of Science and Health seem to me to echo each
other with thoughts of the star when heralded the birth of Jesus Christ.
It reminds me of the echoing of Genesis I and John 1. Beautiful!
