These days, one doesn't have to travel to the United States to appreciate the work of Longyear Museum in providing an accurate view of the life of Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
A short video titled "Upon Life's shore" may be a good place to start. The story of Mrs. Eddy's long life, as described here, is uplifting, hopeful, and remarkable.
I enjoyed the costumes, scenery and true-to-the-age depictions of life in the New England of the 1820s through to 1910.
The name of the video comes from the fifth verse of Mrs. Eddy' poem Christ My Refuge -
Thus Truth engrounds me on the rock
Upon Life's shore,
'Gainst which the winds and waves can shock
Oh, nevermore!
It's worth taking a little time to imbibe the spirit of this introductory film. It lifts the heart.
